The DePaul College of Law’s Combating Sex Trafficking 2019 Summit presents:
“Eliminating Sex Trafficking in a Digital Age: with a Chicago Focus”
Please join us for panel discussions on the current state of affairs of sex trafficking within our city and what you can do to combat modern day slavery. Panels will feature local law enforcement, advocacy organizations, and a survivor of sex trafficking as we explore the criminal use of the internet for trafficking in sexual exploitation and the concept of crimes of survival through a survivor’s lens. The goal of this event is bring awareness to the reality of sex trafficking and its prevalence not just as an international problem but one that occurs more often than known in Chicago and the Midwest. Our hope is to spark conversations amongst the community about how we can assist in preventing sex trafficking and help with advocacy efforts that support survivors.
This program is facilitated through the partnerships of the Vincent G. Rinn Law Library, the Schiller DuCanto Family Law Center, the International Human Rights Law Institute, the Center for Public Interest Law, and the Journal of Social Justice. Special thanks to our external partners: Selah Freedom and the Chicago Bar Association (CBA). CLE will be offered for eligible attendees.
This event is part of the DePaul University's 2018-2019 Diversity Series. Attendance is free and open to the general public. We ask that those who wish to attend RSVP via Eventbrite () as seating is limited. Seating for this program will begin at 3:30pm. We also welcome early arrivals to browse our exhibit table directly outside the event.
