***January Graduate Student Service Opportunity***
The Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) Service Committee is looking for volunteers to help us with a Repack Session at the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) on 1/12/2019 from 8:30am to 11:15am. Please share this within your departments as well!
A lot of the food the GCFD receives at their warehouse comes in bulk quantities, and volunteers are scheduled to help break it down into more manageable sizes. We may be sorting produce, inspecting and boxing shipments of bread, or repacking bulk dry goods (pasta, rice, beans) into smaller quantities. Together, we help distribute quality food to participating food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in Cook County.
In order to volunteer, please sign up using this group registration link. You’ll need to complete the registration process, which includes an Electronic Waiver.
After you sign up, please contact me ([email protected]) so I can know how many people plan on attending. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, as well!
