Nature Storytime for Sprouts 2019: Leaf Hunt
131 Impressions
Children ages 3-6 and their adult caregivers are invited to join us for a two hour nature-themed monthly program. Each month our “sprouts” will use their senses to connect to the natural world through nature stories, short hikes, songs and nature crafts.
Using the book, We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger, the Sprouts will gather leaves as we trek out to the cottage near the bike tent (.8 mile). Once there, we will make rubbings from our favorite leaves, try to figure out what trees the leaves came from and discover why leaves turn those amazing colors.
Be prepared for some fun raking and jumping. Dress for the weather and children should wear clothes that can get a bit dirty.
If you would like, bring a stroller or wagon, and enjoy this gorgeous time of year.
For liability reasons, adults and younger siblings must be registered as well as each Sprout attending class. While we do accommodate younger siblings, they must not disrupt class (although it is acceptable for parents/caregivers to excuse themselves for a few moments when/if necessary)
