The May full moon, which is also known as the Flower Moon, is set to rise around 8 pm on Saturday the 18th. Unfortunately, due to scheduling and calendar conflicts, we cannot host our hike on the actual full moon. So come join us for an evening hike and a campfire on Monday the 20th instead! The moon rises about an hour later each night, so we won't have any moonlight for this hike, but we can certainly enjoy some time in nature, will hopefully be able to see some stars, and may even hear some owls or coyotes! This event is open to members only at this point, but members are free to bring non-member friends and family.
After check-in around the campfire, we will hike up to the stones. It will be dark because the moon will not yet be up -- and won't rise until way AFTER the hike is over! Folks are free to hang out by the fire while others hike. We will have tea, hot chocolate, and other beverages, and there's always a rumor of marshmallows and/or s'mores. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring snacks and water as necessary, and have a flashlight or headlamp handy. There are some chairs available for use at Harvest, but if you plan to sit around the fire, you may want to bring your own. Please also assess your ability to hike on uneven ground in the dark for a distance that totals a little over a mile.
