The sixth annual Breakout Mentors Student Showcase will be Sunday, May 19th from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm. This is a great opportunity for your son or daughter to take pride in their project and draw inspiration from other kids!The event resembles a science fair with just Breakout Mentors students' coding projects. It will start with a series of short presentations by students. Immediately following, each student will have a station with a poster board and laptop where attendees can wander around to see the projects.It will be a low key environment where students can take pride in their projects. They will have a lot of fun seeing what other kids their age are working on!Ticket Types
Tickets are not necessary for anyone other than Breakout Mentors students. They simply help us estimate the size of the event.
Breakout Mentors student - PresentationA limited number of students will make 3 minute presentations on their projects. Each student will create a slide deck with a maximum of 5 slides covering the questions below. The presentation will also include a demo of their project. Presenters should also bring a laptop and free-standing poster board with the print out of their slides attached for the 2nd part of the showcase. Breakout Mentors student - Poster BoardEach student will create a free-standing poster board covering the questions below and printed screenshots of their project (like a science fair poster).All students should bring a laptop with their project to allow others to try it. Outlet access may be limited, so please have a fully charged laptop on arrival.Questions to answer: -Your first name and age -Project name and brief description -Programming language used and any libraries/starter code -Your favorite feature of the project -The most difficult aspect of the coding
