9 am to 3 pm with a one hour break for lunch.Instructor: Gary StandkeFee: $95In this decorative scroll class, students will have an opportunity to learn new scrolling skills or expand upon the skills learned in the "Scroll Form, Ribbon Scroll, Fish Tail Scroll" class. Each of our Decorative Scroll classes stand alone and are not a prerequisite for the other. In this Decorative Scroll class students will learn to make two slightly more complex scroll end elements as well as learning how to make collars used to connect their scroll elements together.First students will learn to form the Half Penny Scroll which takes its name from the old English coin. This scroll element is extremely versatile and will allow the student opportunities for customization. Then, students will learn to form the Beveled or Blown Over Leaf Scroll. This is a complex form designed to emulate the organic shapes of long slender leaves found in nature. Finally, students will be taught how to forge and use Collars to join all of the scroll elements together into a cohesive work of art. After both Decorate Scroll classes you will be ready to start making all the great projects you have been dreaming of!Prerequisites: This is an advanced class. Students should have a good knowledge of blacksmithing, and ideally have taken a number of our tooling and technique classes. All students must have taken Discovery with us. Suggested Tools: We have the tools you will need at the school. If you have made your own scrolling wrench, bring it so that you have a chance to use your own!
