The Every Woman Biennial - the all women and women-identified exhibition and festival- launches on Sunday, May 19 with a 5 minute Flash Mob to I Wanna Dance With Somebody - a tribute to Whitney Houston, who inspired the original biennial, with songs of love and support for women.
This is open to everyone who wishes to join in dance and are 100% committed to learning the steps.
We expect press to cover, so by registering, you agree to be filmed. You also agree that you will accept all liability for your participation and hold harmless The Every Woman Biennial, it's founder, and collaborators.
We will gather around 47 Great Jones St between Bowery and just before the Firehouse @ 3:55pm DO NOT BLOCK THE FIREHOUSE
Be ready for the dance to start exactly on time-4pm - LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN EXACTLY AT 4PM!!!
The Flash Mob will begin with a small group of dancers exiting the front door of 47 Great Jones St and beginning the dance by performing the Intro & 1st Verse
YOU will join them after the 1st Verse and begin dancing all together for the 1st Chorus & continue the rest of the dance as taught in the instructional video
It is important that we respect the flow of traffic and do not clog up the street for any amount of time before or after the actaul Flash Mob dance occurs. Before the song begins, we should wait on sidewalks and respect all pedestrians and traffic as much as possible. As the song fades out and we are dancing freely on Great Jones St together, we will have fun, love all our friends and swiftly/calmly clear ourselves back onto the sidewalks and on our way through our beautifully blessed city.
IMMEDIATELY DISPERSE AND GO TO THE CELEBRATION AT 222 BOWERY***
