Kimberly Bepler, IBCLC, CPD, CLE, CNPE, is a lactation consultant, postpartum doula, new parent educator, and owner of ABC Doula Service in Portland, OR. In the past 18 years of serving families, she has worked with 700 sets of twins and triplets and has formulated a class for expectant parents of multiples, as well as a professional version for caregivers (including doulas, NCS and nannies) who work serving them.
Working with Multiples is a class designed for anyone who serves families of twins or triplets professionally, and who is looking for more skills and confidence to support their clients. Covering aspects of care including tandem holding, tandem feeding, and tandem babywearing, this class is hands-on as well as informational. The special needs of premature babies will be covered in detail, as well as the emotional needs of new parents, and time saving gear that will make everyone’s life easier. This training is based on the real life examples and feedback of hundreds of twin and triplet families, and also is helpful for professionals who want to attract more families expecting multiples. This training is designed to help newer doulas or NCS have more confidence walking into their first few jobs with multiples, and to add extra qualifications for those already experienced with supporting families, or those who have questions or encounter challenges. Business development and marketing is built into every training, as well as interviewing skills and meeting the needs of these special families.
