Project Helping Kindfulness for Kids Event
Join Project Helping as we partner with Jewish Family Services Hand Up Food Pantry in supporting military families. The Hand Up Food Pantry offers wholesome food and a connection to the resources and services available to San Diegans facing food insecurity.
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
The Project Helping group of volunteers will distribute food on base to military families. The food is generously donated through the Jewish Family Services. Volunteers will be expected to lift at least 25 pounds, help unload the food truck, set up the distribution station, then distribute the packaged goods to participating military families. As space is limited, make sure to register before attending this great event!
Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term.
* 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood.* 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose.
This is just some of the science that supports our mission and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kindfulness. #DoGoodFeelGood
