In 1880, the Home for Colored Children was founded to care for profoundly disadvantaged children in our region. Today, as Three Rivers Youth, we retain the same mission and the same passion for serving the underserved in our community. Our modern child-welfare agency aligns itself with the plight of families who struggle mightily with homelessness, mental illness, poverty, and substance abuse, applying strategies to overcome these negative forces. We have learned that when families are strong, healthy, and vibrant they nurture strong, healthy, and vibrant youth.
We are pleased to announce the 2019 honorees who join a growing distinguished list of past honorees and include:
Dr. Larry E. Davis, University of Pittsburgh
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Pittsburgh Chapter
Ms. Valerie Njie, Bidwell Training Center (Retired)
