Meet the panelists:
Emily Bailey, Data Scientist, Strategic Finance at Uber
Emily Bailey has spent 3.5 years at Uber, where she leads a data science group focused on financial optimization. She also co-leads the Women in Data employee resource group. Emily's interest in data science began at Duke University, where she leveraged econometrics techniques in her joint economics and environmental science thesis. She is currently working part-time on a master's degree in machine learning at Columbia University.
Kathy Yang, Data Scientist on Airbnb's Strategy & Insights Team
Kathy hails from Michigan and went to MIT, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and mechanical engineering. Her winding path toward data science took her through a management consulting job and think tank research to data science.
Lily Shen, Product Manager for Data Science & Machine Learning at Niantic, Inc.
Lily joined Niantic, the AR gaming company behind Pokemon Go, as the first data scientist and built the company's data science foundation from scratch. Before Niantic, she worked in highly quantitative roles at the Fed and a management consulting firm. She deeply cares about translating data insights into real impact and product features.
Jana Dodson, Sr. Data Scientist at Shift Technologies.
Jana has been working in data science for almost 5 years in a variety of industries including healthcare, telecom, and automotive. She recently left a hundred year old, multinational corporation to join a peer-to-peer used car marketplace startup where she is currently working on pricing models and data science team building.

Anne is a results-driven serial entrepreneur and co-founder/executive director of various successful for-profit and non-profit ventures. After a career in the corporate world in IT and digital health, and selling a consumer product startup, Anne founded the first AI-driven women’s networking platform to help women built stronger networks. She now serves as the executive director for Women In Product, a rapidly growing 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing women with equal access and representation at all career levels.
