The Valley Presbyeterian Hospital (VPH) Student Health Center at LAVC and the American Red Cross are holding an LAVC Blood Drive.
Students, faculty, staff and the public are encouraged to donate blood at the Spring 2019 campus wide blood drive. Appointments strongly encouraged but and walk-ins also welcomed.
The following is a schedule of the Spring 2019 LAVC Blood Drive dates:
+Monday, February 11 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Monarch Hall in the Campus Center building
+ Monday, March 11 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Monarch Hall in the Campus Center building
+Wednesday, April 17 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Monarch Hall in the Campus Center building
+Monday, May 13 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Monarch Hall in the Campus Center building
Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on height), and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. Please bring your Red Cross donor card or other form of positive photo ID when you come to donate.
All blood donors are encouraged to drink plenty of water every day for two days before the drive, and have a good meal before making a blood donation. We encourage donors to take an iron supplement three days before each drive. There now is no longer a deferral period for recent tattoos that are done in a licensed tattoo shop.

This event is wheelchair accessible. Individuals needing sign language interpreters, assisted listening devices, large print, Braille materials, or any other accommodations, should contact the contact the Valley Presbyterian Hospital Student Health Center at LAVC at (818) 947-2918 at least 5 business days in advance.
